Condition of items:
All items I sell are pre-owned, vintage or antique. Even items that have never been used did not come from a retail outlet or wholesaler. READ the description. Flaws, color discrepancies, measurements, et cetera are indicated in the description. I am not perfect and have been known to forget measurements. If I did or you have more questions email me. I will be glad to help you. I'd rather lose a sale than have a disgruntled customer.
I take all the photos so what you see is the item you will get. I do not use stock photos for anything including books. Please feel free to request additional photos if you need them to make a decision.
Smoke, pets, and odors:
My home is smoke and fragrance free but I have a cat. I avoid buying items with detectable tobacco, mold or fragrance odor however I can’t promise items did not have previous exposure.
If items have soil or stains from use I usually clean or work on them before listing. If not I mention this in the listing.
Items that are obviously unused but have shop soil are not laundered as they are being sold as unused, unlaundered.
Payment:
Payment is due immediately if using PayPal or Google Checkout. If you do not complete payment at checkout expect an invoice.
I prefer Google Checkout if you are buying more than one item. It is easier to adjust the total before you are charged. If you live outside the USA I can send you a Google invoice with shipping adjusted to your location and number of items.
If you are buying more than one item and take a break your shopping cart will empty out. Make a note of the item numbers you have in your cart before leaving your computer.
Think carefully about mailing payment. Adding the cost of a money order and stamps to the price of the item might make it not such a bargain. Add to that the extra two weeks approximately in receiving your item. If that is your only option, I will accept US$ post office money orders (domestic) from the USA and Canadian Post Office US$ money orders only. I do not accept personal checks from anyone for any reason.
Combined shipping:
I give it whether you request it or not.
The more you buy the more you save. The postage for the first item is always the most expensive. Adding additional items sometimes add nothing to the shipping of the first or very little. It all depends on the kind of items you are buying.
Shipping/Insurance:
I ship worldwide via USPS or Canada Post. Most items will go airmail but the occasional package will go surface unless you want to pay a premium for airmail. Please let me know your time constraints and requirements. If I can’t meet them I will refund you before shipping.
This site does not provide for international shipping rates (outside US and Canada) at this time. If you pay immediately and shipping is not included in the price, the invoice will not include shipping. Expect an invoice for shipping to follow. For lightweight items, shipping is usually only another $2 to $4.
Items with shipping included:
Lightweight items such as hankies, scarves and jewelry may have 0 shown as the shipping. This means I have included shipping in the price. This is not the same as free shipping. I know how much is added to each item for shipping and if you are combining items that include 1 or more shipping included items, you will receive a partial refund as soon as I tally the actual total. You may email me to get this savings reflected in a combined invoice or you may check out and wait for the adjustment. This comes as a refund if using PayPal. If you use Google Checkout, it will appear that you are being charged the full amount but you are not officially charged until I subtract the discount and make the final charge.
Insurance is always available. Cost of insurance is included in the shipping fee for breakable and valuable items. If you aren't sure if it is included and want it, email me.
Returns:
If there is a problem with your order, please contact me via email within 24 hours of receipt. In case of damage keep the packaging and all the contents and notify me immediately.
Returns for other reasons are accepted if initiated within 3 days and received back within 10 days. I do not rent fashion accessories. Certain items prone to "borrowing" will be shipped with a plastic tag visably attached. If this is removed, no return. Items returned after 10 days will be refused. Otherwise refunds, less shipping/handling fees, will be made via Paypal or Google. Make sure I have your email address if you didn't pay via Paypal or Google Checkout.
Allow 4 weeks from date of mailing before reporting your package as lost. Most USA packages have delivery confirmation on them. If the package is insured you must wait for the bureaucratic wheels to turn. I will work with you, but don't issue the refunds.
SAVE YOUR PACKING SLIPS. I CANNOT ACCEPT RETURNS WITHOUT THEM. I sometimes have to bring the returned item across the border and that packing slip is my proof that I am not the buyer. Otherwise any duty, taxes or fees I have to pay at the border will be deducted from your refund.
Finally, and this is important, as internet providers attempt to stem SPAM emails, they quite frequently discard important emails. If you have emailed me for whatever reason and don’t get an answer within 24 hours, check your spam/phishing files or that you don’t have blocks on mail from unrecognized contacts. I answer ALL emails within 24 hours and usually much sooner.
